Fall Fashion Photo Shoot

For the September issue of the magazine we got to have a fashion photoshop at the Aerodome in Rhinebeck, NY. More of my behind the scenes pictures are on flickr

The theme of the clothing for the shoot was military inspired looks. To go along with this we shot at the Aerodome. The classic cars, planes, and hangers were the perfect backdrop.

During the shot I was helping out with a bunch of things. In between taking pictures to go on the magazine's website I was taping the bottom of shoes so they wouldn't get dirty and stemming clothing to get the wrinkles out. It was a great experience. It allowed me to see the process and the all the work that goes into planning, setting up, and executing a fashion photo shoot.

"Best of" Cover Mock Ups

Using the font that I created a made some mock-up covers for the October issue of the magazine. When selecting colors I tried to pick colors that would stand out in a newsstand.

"Best of" Font Design

Every year the magazine publishes a "Best of" issue featuring the best restaurants, events, and shopping in the area. I designed a font to use for some of my cover concepts for this issue:

HVTV Logo Variations

 

Initially I started working out just a logo for HVTV. Then looking at where it was going to be placed on the website I decided that a banner would be more appropriate.

HVTV Logo/Header Design - Early Stages

Recently HV Mag has been putting together videos for the website that go along with the articles in their print magazine. I am designing a header to replace the "HVTV" copy that is currently on the sight.

Location Scouting

For the September issue of the magazine there is going to be a fall fashion feature. We are hoping to do a military inspired wardrobe. The other day we went to the Rhinebeck Aerodome to see if it would be a good location to do the shoot at. The people at the aerodome were super friendly and accomidating. The most interesting thing for me at the aerodome was all the old typography. Here are some pictures of the most interesting:
